Dick Morris: Hillary Vs. Hillary
April 9, 2006
In the wake of Jeanine Pirro’s awkward withdrawal from the race, many assumed that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s only re-election challenge would be trying to beat the New York blowout record set by Sen. Chuck Schumer in 2004. But the latest poll by John Zogby indicates that Hillary suddenly has a food fight on her hands.
In his first poll after Pirro dropped out on Jan. 13, Zogby had Hillary ahead of GOP challenger John Spencer by 61 percent to 31 percent. But in his most recent survey, conducted March 27, her margin had fallen to 54-33.
Hillary’s drop did not reflect any aggressive paid media push by Spencer. He has yet to run his first ad. Rather, Hillary is losing the key contest of Hillary vs. Hillary - her negatives are rising.
In New York City, she dropped from a 68-19 lead to 62-25. In the suburbs, she fell from 55-36 to 48-41. Upstate, her edge went from 57-38 to 43-42.
Suddenly, it’s a race.
Animating Hillary’s drop are losses on all ends of the political spectrum. She’s down by six points among Democrats, and by 12 with Republcians. But her key falloff is among independents - from 64 percent to 49 percent.
What’s the problem? Some on the left may find her too pro-war, while others may be reacting to her newly prominent stridency as a critic of the Bush administraion. After six years of studied moderation and respectful silence, the Hillary Clinton who poured coffee for her fellow senators is now yielding the spotlight to the loud, partisan critic.
And her candidacy for president may be eroding her support in New York. The more visible she is on the national stage and the more she seems to be warming up for a run in 2008,

Trial Set in Civil Suit Against Former President Bill Clinton
April 8, 2006
A judge in Los Angeles yesterday dismissed Sen. Hillary Clinton from a lawsuit by business mogul Peter Franklin Paul that alleges her husband, former President Bill Clinton, reneged on a $17 million business deal.
President Clinton however, remains a defendant and will be subpoenaed early next week to testify in a deposition. A trial date has been set, and Paul plans to depose Sen. Clinton as well.
Represented by the public-interest law firm U.S. Justice Foundation, Paul claims Bill Clinton agreed to promote Paul’s Internet businesses after leaving office in exchange for his financial backing of a Hollywood gala and fund-raiser for Sen. Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000.
Dick Morris: Hillary Leaves Room For Gore
April 7, 2006
Hillary Clinton made a fundamental decision in 2002 to support the invasion of Iraq. In doing so, she sought the center of American politics, reacting to issues much as her husband had throughout his ascent to the presidency.
But times have changed, and the center is not what it used to be. In the highly partisan and charged environment of politics in 2006, what has become of the centrist doctrines that reelected Bill Clinton and brought George W. Bush, the compassionate conservative, to the White House? Is the center still the place to aim in getting votes.

Hillary Riffs From Bill’s Speeches
April 6, 2006
Is Senator Hillary Clinton using her husband’s old speeches?
“There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be fixed by what is right about America,” Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former first lady who seems to be aiming for a return to the White House, said Wednesday as she wrapped up her speech to a Hispanic organization.
Excuse the crowd if they had heard it before. The New York Democrat, who clearly took good notes, had very slightly revised her husband’s old standard, from his inaugural address on Jan. 20, 1993.
“There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America,” President Clinton told the nation then.
Peter Paul: Media Protects Hillary And Forces De Lay To Quit Congress
April 5, 2006
How Hillary should be serving the public after the truth about the frauds she directed to win her Senate seat, and to obstruct the FBI investigation into those frauds, is exposed to the world!
Hillary told the Washington Post on August 15, 2000, three months before her election to the Senate, that she “vowed” not to accept any contributions from Hollywood internet mogul, and convicted felon, Peter Paul.
On August 17, 2000, Hillary repeated she HAD not accepted any contributions from Paul, except for $2000 discovered by the Post, which Hillary announced she was promptly refunding to Paul.
Yet, Hillary knew that Paul had just spent $1.6 million to produce the largest fundraiser of her entire campaign. She even negotiated the $850,000 fee charged by her close friend, the producer she demanded produce the event, Gary Smith. Paul personally told Hillary, Bill and Chelsea he had payed for the entire fundraiser on August 12, 2000, the Hollywood Gala Tribute to President Clinton, as part of his employment agreement with Bill for Bill’s post-White House rainmaking services.
