How will African-American voters respond to a Barack-Hillary showdown?
December 12, 2006
Handicapping the 2008 presidential race got a lot more complicated when Barack Obama indicated that he may enter the fray. The senator is young, poised, eloquent and telegenic—and could make history as the nation’s first black president. But first Obama would have to win the Democratic Party’s nomination by defeating a field that includes early favorite Hillary Clinton—who could herself make history as America’s first female president.

Got something to say?

I would like to do just that and I would like to thank you for letting me be able to do so. I would like to say I started out as a Hillary voter because I am from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I am 42 years old and I am a black lady and I enjoyed the years Bill Clinton held office.
I did not know Barrack Obama. But I took the time to research and I begin to like what I read , seen on Good Moring America and CNN news and it grew and grew.
As I watched the debates between Barack Obama and Hillary it grew.
Then I notice the trickery of Hillary Clinton and I did not picture her that way. Then her husband (Bill Clinton) said some things that I did not think he would say. Then the picture Hillary had shown when Mr. Obama was traveling. Then one her campain person made the remark about Mr. Obama. This told me that they will do anything to win.
I would like to see Mr. Obama receive the credit that is due. Hillary has know more experince than Mr. Obama.
I do feel that she wants it real bad and she will do anything to make that happen. But she should stand back and look at the monster she has became.
She is hurting the party in doing so! She is trying everything and I am happy with Florida decision. I am hoping Michigan go the same way. Because I think that is wrong of her. If they made a decision prior they should stay with that decision.
The only thing Hillary has hope for is the super delagates. I was saying I hope the best person win. Now I am voting for Barack Obama he do seem to have great Morals. I seem to share all his views on most of all the issues.
I hope the out come is for Mr. Obama I see him as what the country need to bring people together. I also can relate on his speach. We all have heard and have had a person in our lives to say things about other race of people mostly (white) people in my live. But I did not agree with them and one of them was may on father. But I could not dis-own him. He came up in a time that I did live. But the thing is we are trying to put those things behind us. We can totaly stop it but we can move on. I do think we should have gave it that much attenion to let it feaster. I proud of the way Mr. Obama handled the situation. I hope as Americans we came move on and move on together.
I would like to say once again thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson
