Hillary Clinton Negatives: Poll Claims 50% Won’t Vote for Clinton

March 27, 2007

No wonder the New York Times is running fluff pieces on Hillary Clinton’s attempt to ‘Cultivate the Military.’ The former First Lady and current frontrunner for the presidential nomination for the Democratic Party has some very high negatives that she will need to overcome if she is nominated. According to a new poll, Hillary Clinton has half the country against her - literally.

A report from The Hill details points to a Harris Interactive poll released Tuesday that shows that 50% of those polled will not vote for Hillary if she is nominated. Paging Ross Perot.

(CNSNews.com) - Attorneys for Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) are trying to keep her out of a lawsuit that may ultimately force her to testify under oath about an alleged violation of campaign finance laws.

Washington lawyers David Kendall and Carolyn Utrecht and Los Angeles attorney Jan B. Norman — all representing the apparent frontrunner for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination — filed legal briefs Friday in the California Court of Appeals focusing heavily on the criminal background of plaintiff Peter Paul, the Hollywood businessman who is suing both Bill and Hillary Clinton and others.

Paul alleges that fraudulent actions by the Clintons and others cost him his multi-million dollar Internet venture. Paul claims to have been the largest contributor to Sen. Clinton’s U.S. Senate campaign, spending $1.9 million to hold a 2000 fundraising gala attended by Hollywood celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg, John Travolta and Brad Pitt.

Editors have set a Tuesday Page One placement for Pat Healy’s detailed dispatch, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT..

Of all the early problems Bill Clinton faced as president, few stand out to Hillary as more aggravating and avoidable than his rocky relationship with the military, her advisers tell Healy.

Hillary, in effect, has been practicing her salute:

“She has cultivated relationships with generals and admirals, prepped herself on wartime needs and strategy and traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan.”

NewsBusters - GMA Devotes Almost 30 Minutes to Hillary Clinton Town Hall Infomercial

March 26, 2007

Who says the long sound bite is dead? According to an MRC analysis, “Good Morning America” devoted over 26 minutes of its two hour time slot on Monday to a fawning town hall meeting with Senator Hillary Clinton.

Even more incredible is the fact that GMA host and event moderator Robin Roberts allowed Clinton to talk uninterrupted or unchallenged for almost 18 of those 26 minutes. During some of these long soliquies, the former First Lady repeatedly plugged her campaign website. ABC promises that future town hall meetings will include other presidential candidates, including, one assumes, Republicans. Will Mitt Romney or Sam Brownback be allowed to give what amounts to a campaign speech?
