Hillary Clinton bombs debate

October 31, 2007

We now know something that we did not know before: When Hillary Clinton has a bad night, she really has a bad night.

Hillary bombs debateIn a debate against six Democratic opponents at Drexel University here Tuesday, Clinton gave the worst performance of her entire campaign.

It was not just that her answer about whether illegal immigrants should be issued drivers’ licenses was at best incomprehensible and at worst misleading.

It was that for two hours she dodged and weaved, parsed and stonewalled.

And when it was over, both the Barack Obama and John Edwards campaigns signaled that in the weeks ahead they intend to hammer home a simple message: Hillary Clinton does not say what she means or mean what she says.

And she gave them plenty of ammunition Tuesday night.

Hillary Not Ready for Presidential Duty

October 31, 2007

By Robert M. Duncan

Hillary Clinton told a Democrat audience recently that “I’m ready to lead.” I’m sure she thinks so, but actions speak louder than words, and on issue after issue, her actions make it clear that she is neither willing nor prepared to do what it takes to keep American families safe in a time of war.

Hillary not ready

A number of weeks ago, for example, we learned that, according to a book written by two veteran New York Times reporters, Hillary in 1992 listened in on secretly-recorded phone conversations of political opponents. But what is truly amazing is that, while she is eager and willing to listen in on political opponents, she has fought against giving our intelligence experts the tools they need to monitor terrorists who might be calling to activate their sleeper cells in the United States. In 2006, she joined the far-left of her Party to claim that the Bush Administration was breaking the law by conducting surveillance on terrorists calling into and out of the United States. A year later, when President Bush tried to meet Democrats halfway by proposing legislation to fix that loophole, she voted against it.

It is a stunning stance. Here is an individual who is willing to listen into conversations conducted by political opponents, and yet, as she vies to be our next President, she opposes conducting surveillance against terrorists as they plan to kill Americans. Can she possibly be serious?

Hillary and Soros and The Blog Monitors

October 30, 2007

Richard Poe has a must-read two part piece on how Hillary, with Soros funding, set up the left blogosphere. Read it all. Here's his conclusion:

In it, Hillary">Hillary" />declared, ">Hillary">Hillary" />declared, " />quot;We are… putting together a network in the blogosphere". She attributed its success to the efforts of "institutions that I helped to start and support like Media Matters and Center for American Progress…"

With these words, Hillary confessed to a federal crime. Both groups are supposedly "non-partisan", 501(c)3 tax-free organizations, strictly prohibited from coordinating efforts with a national political candidate such as Hillary.
More importantly, the two groups Hillary mentioned are deeply implicated in Bloggergate. Democrat billionaire GeorgeSoros launched the Center for American Progress in 2003with a $3 million donation. The Center subsequently launched Media Matters for America in May 2004, which in turn launched the Center for Independent Media (CIM) in April 2006.
