Another Lying Clinton

Just in case the details are hazy, let's recount a historic event of the 90s. On Jan. 17, 1998, The Drudge Report claimed that Newsweek editors were withholding a story exposing an affair between President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. When Clinton addressed the affair in a January 26 press conference he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky."

When President Clinton was being examined by a grand jury, he admitted he had an "improper physical relationship" with Lewinsky. Unfortunately for him, Monica kept a certain semen-stained dress around which, thanks to the marvels of DNA testing, proved their relationship to be far more than "improper."

It's important to remember these details when following the campaign of his wife, Hillary. In case you missed it, over spring break Clinton gave a speech in Washington D.C in which she recounted a trip she and her daughter Chelsea made to Tuzla, Bosnia in 1996. She claimed the plane made evasive maneuvers when landing, that they were under sniper fire when exiting the plane and there was no local greeting.

"There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base," said Clinton.

Clinton must not have remembered the CBS news team that accompanied them on their trip or even her conversation with reporter Cheryl Atkinson on the flight there. CBS had the cameras rolling and their account is quite different from the senator's recollection.

The CBS footage shows Sen. Clinton and her daughter walking calmly down the tarmac to the greeting party. A little bosnian girl gave her a letter and a kiss on each cheek as video and still cameras recorded the scene. She later sang at a concert for the troops featuring Sinbad and Sheryl Crow.

Wow. Some might blame this on a lapse in memory but I think I'd remember a trip like that and I'd certainly remember whether my life was in danger or if I was kissed by a child.

In the mid-90s, the first lady traveled to New Zealand where she met Sir Edmund Hillary who, along with Tenzing Norgay, was the first man to climb Mount Everest. She told him it was his accomplishment that inspired her parents to name her Hillary. Former President Clinton, in his autobiography, also stated that Hillary's name came from this man of bravery and perseverance.

Sir Edmund reached the summit in 1953. Hillary Rodham Clinton was born in 1947 five years before the climb. At that time, Sir Edmund was a beekeeper in New Zealand. Unless her parents were seers, they wouldn't have given him a thought when she was born.

If Hillary will distort the truth to get into the obvious, what makes us think she won't deceive to get her way in office? It's obvious the Clintons don't mind lying to get what they want. If Bill was willing to lie to stay President and Hillary is will to lie to get your vote, they shouldn't be anywhere near the Oval Office again.

My sentiments exactly. In a recent Pennsylvania political ad, 3 year-old Hillary Rodham, arms extended, toddles toward the home-movie camera. Hillary’s present day voice-over explains the Rodham family cottage, down by the lake, lacked indoor plumbing. It was hardship borne from the start. Yet, more telling events seem to fall by the wayside. Take Hillary’s first real job, with, I might add, indoor plumbing. The upshot: Jerry Zeifman fired Hillary for unethical practices during the Watergate Investigation. Why was twenty-seven year old Hillary fired? “Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in a recent interview. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

Not only does Mr. Zeifman’s story go to character, it goes to a lifelong pattern of lying and obfuscation. And, it took Zeifman twelve years to get it aired. After Watergate, Zeifman could not recommend Hillary for any subsequent position of public or private trust, nor furnish her with a letter of recommendation. After that TKO, Hillary Clinton’s employment record is one of strict nepotism, cronyism, and amnesia. Although few suspected the lengths to which Hillary would go, a leopard never changes her spots. According to Mr. Zeifman, it’s not just Hillary’s dishonesty; no one disputes that fact. As important: the time span she has behaved in a fraudulent manner. “The Clintons corrupted the soul of the Democratic Party.” -Henry Ruth, lead Watergate courtroom prosecutor.
