“Hillary is a despicable, power hungry, egomaniacal sad excuse for a woman.”

If Hillary Clinton imitates Sally Field's famed Oscar speech, she'll have to change it. "You don't like me," she would need to say. "You really don't like me."
That's the gist of reader response to my column in Saturday's Daily News. I wrote that Clinton citing Robert F. Kennedy's assassination in defending why she is still running was "sick" and accused Clinton of exploiting fears Barack Obama would be killed.
About 90% of the huge number of messages I received agreed with me, with "Excellent job" from Mxolisi Malunga, a Bronx teacher, typical. The tilt against Clinton was close to the 84% who disapproved of her comments in a News online poll. Here's the flavor of my mailbag.
"I hope this is the start of a public call for Hillary and Bill Clinton to go away."
The Rev. Hector Trevino
"It expresses what so many of us feel."
Michele Mateo Rusin
"I hope she takes your advice and takes a long vacation. I hear Darfur is nice this time of year."
Mike Kimsey
Olivia Harris, calling herself an "Obama supporter from Harlem," wrote: "HAS SHE LOST HER MIND? Every superdelegate should end this right now. And please don't let her be VP, I would fear for Sen. Obama's life even more."
Catherine Holden, of Canada, disagrees: "Mrs. Clinton is not waiting for Obama to get shot. To think that is plain nuts. I am not a Hillary fan, and I do agree that watching her keeps your head spinning, but I sure do not think that she has murder on the mind."
"I read your piece and almost fell out of my chair laughing. You inspired me to send [Clinton] another fifty bucks."
Rosaleen
Many people said they long assumed the worst about both Clintons.
"It amused me because after eight years of the Bill Clinton administration, after the war rooms, the political knee-capping of Clinton's opponents, the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the pardons, the funny fund-raising in the White House, you folks in the press have FINALLY figured out that the Clintons…have an obsession with pure personal ambition and the acquisition of political power."
Chris Johnson
Several doctors weighed in:
"This was an encoded/unconscious death wish toward Obama. It was not even thinly disguised."
Joseph Reppen, Ph.D., ABPP
"It seems best explained as a Freudian slip."
Tom Schossau, M.D.
"It's hard to know in this campaign whether Hillary's death wish is for Obama, or herself. Whether she has a deep down self-destructive tendency, like the late President [Richard] Nixon, is hard to know, but there are similarities."
William Hogg, M.D.
Women addressing the gender issue did not spare her.
"I personally am sick and tired of Hillary getting away with all that she has, only because she's a woman (as am I). She needs to be shunned from the Democratic Party and not allowed to even speak at the convention."
Penna Omega
"As an 'older white woman' with longstanding feminist ties, I cannot believe Hillary has been allowed to remain in this race as she has clearly descended into madness, to say nothing of incompetence."
Georgette
"Hillary is a despicable, power hungry, egomaniacal sad excuse for a woman and women who hold her up as an icon should be ashamed of themselves."
Barbara Lovely
A letter from an Obama supporter discussed the hope Kennedy represented to the writer's generation.
"I wondered about Obama's two daughters. The oldest was certainly old enough to understand what was being talked about…I find Hillary Clinton to be without heart or soul. I find her dangerous. Like Nixon, she is all too willing to say and do anything which will advance her career."

Got something to say?

hillary is a class act
I think that she would ruin the country. She has no sense of right or wrong and she will never succeed as a president. If Barack Obama were president, everyone in the world will take a step back and wait to see what he will do. With Hillary, will be attacked worse that when we had Bush.
Lets see if I can sum this up. Hillary is dispicable, power hungry, an egomaniac, a poor organizer, a pathological lier, a fear monger, looney or nuts, whichever you prefer, obsessive compulsive, dead beat bill payer, self-destructive, incompetent, and last but not least, heartless. Come on gang, get over it. Nobody’s perfect.
At 73 yrs. old I cannot believe that Senator Clinton is still stuck in the 90’s. With our computer age we can tell you what you ate for breakfast.(a joke) you get it though. She just did not move to the future. she missed the boat. No more buying the votes. I laugh because she had a hundred del before she started by wine and dine!!!! Any way 50 state Dean plan won the primary. Senator Obama campaigned in every state and Senator Clinton thought like in the 90’s just certain states had election value. I am so proud that our young people will get involved now. When the people have the hope that we do make a difference we will do great things for our country. It will be an honor to vote for Barack Obama.
