Hillary Rodham Clinton launched a winter offensive against Barack Obama on the icy Iowa plains yesterday, belittling Obama's political courage and personal character on a day when he seized the lead in a major Iowa poll.

Hillary goes after Barack Obama's integrity"I have for months been on the receiving end of rather insistent attacks - and now the fun part starts," Clinton told reporters in Cedar Rapids. "We're into the last month and we're going to start drawing a contrast."

Hillary Clinton suggests Obama has character issues

On a day that a new poll said Barack Obama leads in Iowa, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton suggested her rival has character issues.

Clinton closed out her Sunday with an appeal to voters in Bettendorf to caucus for her, but earlier in Cedar Rapids, she took Obama to task over his health care plan and disputed his claim he doesn’t take lobbyist money.

Hillary Clinton was booed at a Democratic presidential candidate forum Saturday, reflecting some of the rancor directed toward her by left wing community activists.

So Who Was Asking Questions At That Debate?

A couple bloggers have looked into the questioners at last week's Democratic debate, and found more than a few of them have formal, professional ties to the Democratic party. One, in fact, was political director of the Arkansas Democratic Party.

It would help if instead of calling these folks, "ordinary people, undecided voters," Wolf Blitzer and crew noted that they were undecided Democrats. I'm not quite up in arms - candidates want to reach the folks who will actually show up on caucus day, so naturally the audience will be diehard Democrats - but in the aftermath of the controversy over "planted" questions at Hillary events, one might think CNN would want to keep an eye on this sort of thing.

Blitzer on Hillary: ‘If she can’t handle the heat… wait until Republicans really start going’…

Coming off the worst two weeks of her campaign, presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton returns to the debate stage today with hopes of regaining her footing.

But the topic that knocked her off stride in the last debate — driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants — is back in the news and likely to resurface when the Democratic candidates face off in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer abandoned a plan to give licenses to illegals amid a public furor that was sparked by Clinton’s comments during an Oct. 30 debate. Clinton initially expressed support for Spitzer’s plan, but then equivocated, drawing fire from her Democratic rivals.
